At CITY College we have made specific arrangements that will allow our students to receive a world-class education in a safe environment, even under the exceptional circumstances that Covid-19 has imposed on all. We are committed to doing everything we can to support our students and staff, and at the same time continue to provide education in full.
The following actions have been introduced for academic year 2021-22 to support personal and community safety within our learning environment:
Learning and Teaching Arrangements
Mask wearing
Before entering our campus special signage has been placed reminding students, staff and visitors that wearing a face mask is obligatory across CITY College premises.
Non-contact thermometer stations
At the entrance of each building, a non-contact thermometer station has been installed.
Antiseptic Stations
Antiseptic stations and sanitisers are available across all CITY College premises. Students, staff and visitors are encouraged to use them frequently.
Enhanced cleaning
Our cleaning staff will be taking extra measures to ensure that surfaces such as door handles, keyboards and restrooms are regularly sanitized.
Air-conditioning and ventilation systems maintenance
The air-conditioning and ventilation system has been well-maintained according to relevant Covid-19 regulations to ensure a healthy indoor environment.
Library and Labs
The Library areas and all labs will be cleaned and sanitised frequently (desks, working spaces, keyboards, mouses etc.).
CITY Break Cafe
CITY Break Cafe will continue to serve food and refreshments to students and staff. All regulations for similar establishments will be implemented.
Posters and signage
Posters and signage are placed throughout our premises informing/reminding students, staff and visitors of policies, guidelines and best hygiene practices (i.e. mask-wearing, physical distance while in common or public spaces, etc.).
Close monitoring of COVID-19 updates
CITY College will be closely monitoring the latest COVID-19 updates and will keep its community up-to-date on any developments.
Face-to-face teaching in class: In the new academic year 2021-2022 we returned to face-to-face lectures with strict protective measures in place to ensure the health and safety of all. Classes and services have returned to face-to-face delivery and courses are therefore delivered in person, in-class.
Classes schedule: Class schedules have been arranged so that all classes do not start at the same time to avoid crowding at the time of arrival or during intervals.
Library/Labs: Library and labs are already open and accessible to students. Library space has been properly prepared to accommodate students for the new academic year. Social distancing in reading spaces and antiseptic stations have been installed to allow the safe use of the library space and PCs. Antiseptic stations have been installed in all labs.
