The event 'Thessaloniki - Economy - Growth: Looking ahead with optimism and realism' drew a full house and was held with great success at our main campus in Thessaloniki, 27 June 2022 with keynote speaker, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Mr. Giorgos Karagiannis. The panel featured distinguished speakers including the Deputy Regional Minister of Infrastructure and Networks of Central Macedonia, Mr. Paris Bilias, the President of the Technical Chamber of Greece (Central Macedonia Department), Mr. Giorgos Tsakoumis, as well as Dr Konstantinos Moutsianas, Lecturer in Finance at our Business Administration and Economics Department.
Ms. Maria Antoniou, Head of the Prime Minister's Office in Thessaloniki, addressed a short welcome at the opening of the event and stated that human resources are the most important reason for a foreign company to invest in our country.
In his insightful keynote speech Mr. Karagiannis underlined the great change taking place in the city with the infrastructure projects that will strengthen its geostrategic role in the wider region.
Ms. Maria Samolada, Journalist and General Manager of GRtimes.gr moderated the discussion. Mr. Moutsianas closed the event with a comment on the valuable contribution of CITY College - as a European Campus of a leading British university, the University of York - to the development of Thessaloniki and its prospects to become a popular educational destination.
Organised by the Business Administration & Economics Department, the event concluded with a fruitful discussion among speakers who shared valuable insights on the topic.
