Eventful and educative, the Annual Study Week in Thessaloniki took place between 8-16 April 2016 with all our 2nd year Executive MBA students from Thessaloniki, Belgrade, Bucharest, Sofia and Kyiv participating. The study week was a mix of classes, seminars, company visit activities, networking, free time and exciting outings. Even though it was an intense week with many hours in the classroom, all MBA students enjoyed it a lot and left Thessaloniki with best impressions.
The study week kicked off with students attending track units of the MBA specialisation they have chosen and gaining insight in specialised areas of management.
Our MBA students had the opportunity to attend an interesting seminar on ‘Big Data & Business Analytics’ by Dr Zenon Michaelides, Lecturer at or MBA programme and Lecturer and Director of Studies for the MSc Big Data Management and MSc Digital Business Enterprise Management at the University of Liverpool Management School. Moreover, Dr Dimitrios Nikolaidis, delivered the ‘New Product Development’ unit bringing in the classroom real product examples to illustrate how new products are developed and penetrate the marketplace.
Also, for the MBA students following the healthcare track of the Executive MBA programme a company visit at ‘AROGI’ rehabilitation centre took place as part of the unit ‘Healthcare Systems Policy and Economics’, escorted by Dr Janet Harris and the Director of the MBA programme, Mr George Efstathiadis.
This year the 8th International Strategic People Management Workshop took place in the frame of the MBA Annual Study Week in Thessaloniki and the ‘Meet the CEO’ feature of our Executive MBA.
On 13 April 2016 the Laboratory for Strategic People Management of our Business Department successfully organised the Workshop entitled ‘My Journey to me Inc. Moving Away from Traditional Employment. The event was endorsed by our Executive Development Institute (EDI) and well attended by our MBA students.
The scheduled boat trip in Thermaikos Gulf was a pleasant escape from classes for our MBA students. Our students enjoyed the beautiful city view of sunny Thessaloniki while sailing. They had the opportunity to admire the city and the warm weather from a different angle along with a pint of beer or a glass of wine and good company.
Once again the MBA Study Week in Thessaloniki was a true networking and learning opportunity for our students from Thessaloniki, Belgrade, Bucharest, Sofia and Kyiv who spent a full week together, exchanged ideas and practices, participated in interesting activities, saw in practice the programme’s holistic approach and had lots of fun while enjoyed the beautiful city of Thessaloniki.
