On 10th of March a seminar was delivered by PIMCO, one of the world's premier fixed income managers. Mr Spyros Michas, Vice-President and Portfolio Manager, kindly accepted the invitation by the Business Administration and Economics Department and presented a seminar on "Global Economic and Investment Outlook".
The participants, final year undergraduate (Accounting and Finance) and MSc Banking and Finance students had the opportunity to learn and discuss the risks and opportunities across the investment landscape in 2018.

Mr. Spyros Michas’ Short Bio
Mr. Spyros Michas is a Vice President and portfolio manager on the European government bond and derivatives team, and has been also part of PIMCO’s real return team in Newport Beach, California. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2016, he was a teaching fellow in economics at Harvard University and a research fellow at Harvard’s Center for International Development (CID) think tank. He previously worked as a director in Fitch’s sovereign team in London, where he held credit roles across the structured finance and global financial institutions teams. He also worked as a quantitative analyst at Barclays in London and as an economist at the World Bank in Washington, DC. He has eight years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in economic policy from Harvard University.
